photographical musings on life in melbourne
Free hugs…anybody?

Free hugs…anybody?

We took a Sunday stroll through the city in some freakishly civilised winter weather. Swanston was abuzz with rubbernecking opportunities, consisting of the installations and makeshift shops of the Design Festival and people giving out free hugs for no apparent reason. By chance we came upon a curious marvel whereupon this bloke made huge bubbles from two sticks and a cobweb of ropes. It was amazing how something so simple could make everyone appear so elated. Even the adults looked like little kids. I had to coax Corrinne into taking photos of the bubbles in the hope that it might produce some interesting results. She wasn’t convinced at first, but as you can see it made for a cracking photographic opportunity.

One of the few delights we can savor from our oppressively diminutive apartment is the gift of a west facing balcony and the occasional breathtaking sunset.
